Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center
Beginning March 19th, 2020, the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center lobby will be closed to walk-in service. Individuals interested in adopting a pet or reclaiming their impounded pet will need to call and schedule an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 254-953-5472.
There will be a limit of 2 visitors allowed inside the facility at a time, and appointments will be spread out throughout the day to allow staff to clean and disinfect in between appointments. Appointment time will be limited to 30 minutes.
Individuals interested in adopting should first visit: PETHARBOR.COM to view the available pets for adoption. Due to the time limitation restriction, visitors should know ahead of time which animals they are wanting to see when they arrive for their appointment. Visitor’s should arrive promptly at their appointment.
The shelter Facebook page will also be updated with available animals. The page is located at FACEBOOK.COM/HHPetAdoption
Animal Services Officers will still respond to calls as usual but will be taking extra precaution when interacting with the public and will be following all “social distancing” guidelines.
Trapping of nuisance animals and wildlife will be suspended until April 1st, 2020, and may be extended. Those individuals who are actively trapping will be notified to cease starting March 19, 2020, and will need to call the shelter before resuming. Any injured or sick animals should still be reported and will be picked up by Animal Services.
