National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative
The Harker Heights Police Department is participating with the DEA in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
This program provides a venue for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs from individual households. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. Any individual wanting to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs in their household can come by the Harker Heights Police Department located at 402 Indian Trail and drop them off. NEEDLES NOT ACCEPTED
