Celebrate Park & Recreation Month each day in July by participating in this activity! Each day, there will be different suggestions on how to get “unplugged” at our parks and programs.

PACK THE PANTRY

Donate canned food items and home goods to benefit the Harker Heights Food Care Center. Items needed include: baby food, baby formula, baby diapers, toilet paper, laundry soap, dish soap, paper plates, napkins, personal feminine items, canned food and boxed foods.

Come join the Parks and Recreation and Library for a movie night at the Carl Levin Pool. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of eating snacks and swimming while watching Monster University. Family Dive-Ins are open to the whole family.


 SEED & PLANT SWAP

Need some new plants for your fall garden, or need to get rid of some extra plants you have? Come to the seed & plant swap! This free event will allow the general public to bring in seeds, bulbs, and/or cuttings (no hybrid seeds please) to share and swap. Please make sure that the seeds are clearly labeled in an envelope, baggie, or container. Labels should include the name of the plant, growing directions, and a picture of the plant if possible. It is not mandatory to bring something to swap. Baggies will be provided for take home seeds. There will be garden centered vendors at the event as well to share information about gardening, their business, and to answer any gardening questions.
