The Harker Heights Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide range of year-round recreational classes for all ages. Between our Recreation Center and Activities Center, there's something for everyone!

Participate and learn the art of the sword: Olympic style foil, epee and saber. Akin to mental chess with lots of decision making, strategy and tactics. Everyone from the beginner to advanced fencers will have fun learning new skills and techniques practices and used throughout history. All ages and all athletic condition level can fully participate in the recreational fencing class. No experience required.
Closed toe shoes and long pants required. Class motto: Respect, Honor, Tradition. Coach has guide and can adapt class to count towards home school PE credit. Equipment is provided for each student.

Join us at our Family Campout to spend a night under the stars with family and friends and enjoy outdoor recreation activities all while getting away from it all but staying close to home. There will be campfire stories, s'mores of course, and a variety of outdoor recreation activities to participate in.

Families must bring their own tent and sleeping supplies. Staff & volunteers will be available to help set up your camp.

Check in: starts at 3:00 pm Friday, at the Pavilion. Directions to the sites will be provided. Friday night will be on your own if you choose to stay, all activities will begin Saturday morning, as well as lunch, dinner, and dessert will be served on that day.

Meals included are: Lunch, dinner & dessert Saturday night, and breakfast on Sunday morning. Bring extra snacks & drinks if desired.
