|David R. Mitchell began his career with the City of Harker Heights as City Manager on January 2, 2014. Prior to his career as City Manager of Harker Heights, David served in the same capacity for the City of Hutto, Texas. David’s municipal experience began in 2004 when he was hired as a City Planner for Harker Heights. David served in a number of roles for Harker Heights, including Director of Planning and Development, until his departure to Hutto in 2009 where he was hired as Assistant City Manager. Before his career in municipal government, David worked for nine years in the private sector in the forest industry. Mr. Mitchell is responsible for the operation of the City. This includes planning, budgeting, supervision of employees and providing quality services to residents of the City.
David is a 1995 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelors’ Degree in Forest Resources and has earned a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is an active member of the Texas City Managers Association.
|Ms. Brunson began her career with the City of Harker Heights on November 15, 1984. She has held various positions at the City during her tenure. Currently she is the Assistant City Manager. The Assistant City Manager supervises the Administrative Department Staff, the Court Department Personnel, the IT Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Library, the Pet Adoption Center, and the Human Resource Department. Additionally, the position is responsible for City Secretary functions.|
