9TH ANNUAL NATIONAL PARK TRUST - KIDS TO PARKS DAY
Saturday, May 18, 2019
Local City and State Parks
On May 18, 2019, join the 1-million+ people at hundreds of national, state, and local parks, and public lands across the country taking part in the 9th annual NPT Kids to Parks Day (KTP Day). KTP Day is a nationally coordinated day designed to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks. By discovering our public lands, kids across the country are learning about park stewardship, outdoor recreation, STEM, and history. Through teaching the next generation to appreciate our public lands, NPT is working to foster future park enthusiasts and create the next generation of park stewards.
Each year, on the third Saturday of May, National Park Trust, working with cities and partners across the country, invites kids of all ages to find their own adventure at one of the hundreds of events hosted nationwide.
By coordinating a wide array of park activities on a single day, Kids to Parks Day attracts new park goers and helps connect existing park enthusiasts with local organizations in the hopes of creating park advocates and stewards. The task to preserve our country’s public lands and waters requires a collaborative effort among organizations, government agencies, and most importantly passionate park advocates and stewards.
