FEBRUARY 2017 DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY REPORT

 

COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

 The City issued one (1) commercial construction permit for the month of February.

·         920 E. Knights Way (E. FM 2410) – McDonalds Restaurant

o   5,218 square feet valued at $750,000

*One (1) Commercial Permit was issued January 12, 2017 and did not make it into our report.

·         980 E. Knights Way (E. FM 2410) – Harker Heights/Stillhouse Lake Rd. Shopping Center

o   14,000 square feet valued at 365,000

 To date (February 28, 2017) the City has issued a total of two *(2) commercial permits totaling $1,115,000 in commercial permit values for 2017.

 RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

 The City has issued twenty-two (22) permits for single-family residential construction for the month of February.


 
·         16 residences in The Grove at Whitten Place

·         4 residences in Tuscany Meadows

·         1 residence in Evergreen Estates

·         1 residence in The Ridge

The City has issued four (4) permits for two-family (duplex) residential construction for the month of February.

 


 
·         2 Duplexes in Comanche Land

·         1 Duplex in Wildewood

·         1 Duplex on Elbert Lane

 To date (February 28, 2017) the City has issued a total of fifty-one (51) residential permits in 2017; forty-seven (47) single-family permits, four (4) two-family permits and zero (0) multifamily permits.

 As of February 28, 2017 the estimated population for the City of Harker Heights is 29,994 residents. This calculation is based off the total of active residential water accounts multiplied by persons per occupied unit. According to the US Census, the population in 2010 was 26,700 residents.
