JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2018 DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY REPORT
The City issued a total of three (3) commercial construction permits within the months of January and February.
1. 403 Indian Trail – Commercial Construction Permit for Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center Building Addition.
o 2,495 square feet valued at $1,289,819.
2. 1210 E. Knights Way (E. FM 2410) – RK Bass Electric Warehouse Addition
o 7,000 square feet valued at $535,000.
3. 440 E. Central Texas Expressway – Commercial Tenant Finish-Out
o 1,814 square feet valued at $96,142.
To date (February 28, 2018) the City has issued a total of three (3) commercial permits totaling $1,920,961 in project valuation for 2018.
The City has issued a total of twenty (20) permits for single-family residential construction within the months of January and February.

· 9 residences in Tuscany Meadows
· 1 residence in The Ridge
· 8 residences in The Grove at Whitten Place
The City has issued a total of six (6) permits for two-family (duplex) residential construction within the months of January and February.

To date (February 28, 2018) the City has issued a total of twenty-six (26) residential permits in 2018; twenty (20) single-family permits, six (6) two-family permits, and zero (0) multi-family permits.
As of March 2, 2018 the estimated population for the City of Harker Heights is 30,252 residents. This calculation is based off the total of active residential water accounts multiplied by persons per occupied unit. According to the US Census, the population in 2010 was 26,700 residents.
