The City issued two (2) commercial construction permits for the month of April.
· 980 E. Knights Way (E. FM 2410) – Finish out of Express ER
o 6,300 square feet valued at $1,000,000
· 2020 Heights Drive – FedEx Office within Walmart
o 454 square feet valued at $49,288
To date (April 30, 2017) the City has issued a total of four (4) commercial permits totaling $2,164,288 in commercial permit values for 2017.
The City has issued eleven (11) permits for single-family residential construction for the month of April.
· 9 residences in The Grove at Whitten Place
· 1 residence in Tuscany Meadows
· 1 residence on Clore Road
The City has issued six (6) permits for two-family (duplex) residential construction for the month of April.
· 4 Duplexes in Comanche Land
· 2 Duplexes on Elbert Lane
To date (April 30, 2017) the City has issued a total of eighty-eight (88) residential permits in 2017; seventy-eight (78) single-family permits, ten (10) two-family permits and zero (0) multifamily permits.
As of May 1, 2017 the estimated population for the City of Harker Heights is 30,111 residents. This calculation is based off the total of active residential water accounts multiplied by persons per occupied unit. According to the US Census, the population in 2010 was 26,700 residents.
