The City issued two (2) commercial construction permits for the month of August.

To date (August 31, 2017) the City has issued a total of nine (9) commercial permits totaling $3,118,288 in project valuation for 2017.
The City has issued thirteen (13) permits for single-family residential construction for the month of August.
· 5 residences in The Grove at Whitten Place
· 4 residences in Tuscany Meadows
· 1 residence in Comanche Land
· 3 residences in Other
The City has issued one (1) permit for two-family (duplex) residential construction for the month of August.
· 1 Duplex in Comanche Land
To date (August 31, 2017) the City has issued a total of one hundred thirty-eight (138) residential permits in 2017; one hundred twenty (120) single-family permits, eighteen (18) two-family permits and zero (0) multi-family permits.
As of August 30, 2017 the estimated population for the City of Harker Heights is 30,304 residents. This calculation is based off the total of active residential water accounts multiplied by persons per occupied unit. According to the US Census, the population in 2010 was 26,700 residents.
