Youth Sports 
Participation in youth athletic activities will introduce your child to the fundamentals of each sport, while instilling teamwork and sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment.

Adult Sports
Adult sports are available whether you are looking for exercise or just to have a good time with friends. Individuals will register and pay as teams, but a "Free Agent" list is available at the Recreation Center during registration for those looking to join a team. 

ADULT CO-ED VOLLEYBALL
Registration: August 2 - 31
Fee:  $150.00 / team
Coaches Meeting: September 2 at 6:00 pm
Games begin: Mid-September

ADULT FALL SOFTBALL
Registration: September 1 - October 2
Fee:  $300.00 / team
Leagues: Men's & Co-Ed Recreational
    Men's & Co-Ed Competitive
Coaches Meeting: October 6 at 6:00 pm

HORSESHOES & WASHERS TOURNAMENT
Date: Saturday, September 25, City's 50 Anniversary
Time:  4:00 pm
Location:  Dana Peak Park
Registration: Recreation Center
    Onsite until 3:00 pm on September 25
Entry Fee: $10.00 per team (2 man team)

Adaptive Sports
Adaptive sports are now available through Parks & Recreation. For those looking to join a team or enjoy a fun time exercising, visit one of many sports to come.

Volunteer Head Coach Refund

We understand the time and dedication it takes to be a volunteer coach for a Harker Heights recreation league. In appreciation of your efforts, we are granting refunds at the end of each sports season for Head Coaches that successfully complete the following requirements.

Attend coaches meeting
Attend training sessions offered by Parks and Recreation
Check the refund box on the application form
Remain with the team for the duration of the season
Turn in completed coach evaluations from parents
Turn in equipment at the end of the season

All return coaches will be given priority for coaching opportunities prior to taking on any new coaches. Please click here for the Coaching Application.

CODE OF CONDUCT
In the spirit of sportsmanship, participants shall:
Conduct themselves in a manner that represents
the City of Harker Heights and the Parks and
Recreation Department with honor, dignity and
respect. Demonstrate the qualities of civility and
sportsmanship at all times. Not use vulgar, abusive,
racist, sexist, demeaning or intimidating language
at any time. Support the players, coaches and
officials in a positive manner. Treat the visiting
team, coaches and fans with courtesy and respect
at all times. Not engage in cheers that are vulgar,
crass or demeaning. Refrain from throwing objects
for any reason. Not become inebriated or belligerent.
Refrain from entering playing and team areas at any
time, including after the game.
